Planning an ‘off-season’ holiday in Goa? We’ll tell you why your plans for July and August in Goa should be on!
True, it’s not beach weather. But it’s beautiful weather nonetheless. Goa is an often overlooked monsoon escape and that’s what makes it a really good one. It’s relatively unexplored by most Goa-fans too, so if you’re one of them, it’s a great time to come and have new experiences seeing an absolutely different side of Goa.
Wipe the sun daze off your eyes, take off your sunglasses and read on to see what Goa has to offer on the flipside of sunshine.

1. The Good Green Life
Pull out your colour palette because you’ll be spotting different shades of green everywhere. From spring green to moss to dark forest and emerald, Goa will show you verdant colours in all their natural glory. Goa has some beautiful wildlife and bird sanctuaries that come alive in this season. Drive to Divar islands, visit Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary, Palolem Island Reserve or Dr Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary and soak in the greenery. The monsoon season is the best time to visit Goa for embracing the slow life, finding peace and serenity.

2. Waterfalls
Water views are never not existent in Goa. June through August the waterfalls are gushing and the trek trails are peaking. Whether you’re looking for easy treks or challenging ones, Goa has a variety of both to offer. We recommend a trek from Keri to Arambol for a chance to explore the untouched coastline of the Arabian Sea. You can even take a dip in the sweet water lake. The Tambdi Surla Waterfall trek is another one worth exploring, but we recommend you do this one with a local guide. The falls are located amidst thick forests and the trail is not the easiest one, although the views are well worth the effort.
3. Nights in Paradise
Come rain or shine, Goa doesn’t sleep at night. Goa’s home to some of the hottest restaurants, bars and casinos in the country and our Villa Experiences Manager knows how to get you in the best ones. We recommend you check out Izumi in Assago and Uno Mas in Vagator. Visit the Deltin Royale, it’s Asia’s largest off-shore casino and has a ton of entertainment options including live music and buffets aboard the cruise.
4. Lap in Luxury with Amazing Deals
It’s the season of raining deals too. Maximise savings with favourable deals on lavish stays in June, July, and August. Villa In Palms by V Escapes for instance is celebrating the season with incredible monsoon offers for their guests. You can book the 5-bedroom villa for INR 1,00,000 per night on weekdays and INR 1,08,000 per night on weekends. The magical monsoon stay will also include airport transfers in luxury SUVs, lavish breakfast spreads daily, private chefs and a bartender. Live like the stars and enjoy the exceptional amenities and services at this neoclassical escape including a Villa Experiences Manager who can help plan your trip and curate personalised experiences for you. 5. Monsoon Adventures
From mid June to August, Goa’s landscape puts forward some fun options for adventurists. CyclingZens organises monsoon bike ride tours and island hopping tours to Charao and Divar islands. Breathe in the fresh monsoon air with the smell of rain and peddle around Goa to see it like never before. If you’re more of a water baby, go white water rafting with Goa Rafting. They organise thrilling rafting adventures on the Mhadei River from June to October.
Now that you know what to expect in the rainy months. It’s time to call your crew and start planning a monsoon trip. If you would like more details on Villa In Palms, click here for pictures of the rustic chic villa and here to know more about the amenities it offers.
