3 tourists walk into a bar in Goa. There’s no punch line. That’s no joke. This happens daily. In every bar in Goa. But if you’re a tourist, who’s read this blog then your bar - for the bar you walk into - to impress you, will certainly be high. As high as you would like to get there ;)
Bookmark this page, you’ll want to save this list of the best new bars in Goa for your next trip -
1. Village 36, Assagao
In the mood for some Thai Chai? Or do you want your fix of some Bangkok Kush? Don’t be fooled by the names, they’re both cocktails spiked only with alcohol. Village 36 mixes sophisticated drinks with hand-picked, premium ingredients and the presentation of every single cocktail on the menu is so glamorous, you’ll want to keep ordering just to see them all.
Take our word for it, they taste as good as they look.
The menu draws you in with a smile with super sassy cocktails like Super Tramp, Bubble Butt and Giggle Water. All crowd favourites, by the way.
A vibrant outdoor space with comfortable seating under a canopy of green trees creates the perfect ambience for a delicious moonlit night or a bright sunshiny afternoon for some holiday-day-drinking. An old Portuguese home was revamped by Sussanne Khan to create this charming contemporary space. They serve South East Asian street eats and cocktails inspired by countries like Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand and South Korea. Ask for Akshay at the bar and you’ll get wonderful conversation and recommendations along with your drinks. We’re big fans of their food too! The dishes are flavourful and hit just the right spot. You must order the Hamachi with citrus, soy and garlic and the Beijing Duck to know why!
*Insider tip - Every Tuesday night, they host ‘Thicc Tuesdays’ with live music and special offers. Make sure you visit then and enjoy the north goa nightlife!

2. Pablo's, Assagao
Previously called Escobar, recently renamed Pablo’s. Is this place inspired by the infamous Colombian Kingpin? No. But is this place hard on your joints? Could be. It’s quite easy to roll here. They have a skatepark in their backyard, after all. Just so we’re clear, no puns intended. Pablo’s is a casual dive that will remind you of the humble Goa of yesteryears. It's the perfect spot to sit back and relax with a few beers. Dressed in your dressed-to-go-nowhere wear, you can easily while away your afternoons and evenings here. Just like the locals. Do try their Jeera and Masala Infused Feni with some Chorizo Chilli Fry.

3. Slow Tide, Anjuna
Much as the name suggests, this beachfront restaurant on the soft shores of Anjuna is a great spot to soak in a slow day as you gaze at the tides. On a strip filled with noisy, boutique cafes and restaurants, this refreshingly spacious and breezy bar and restaurant has a lot to offer. Lazy brunches and melodious sundowners, it’s a great spot to catch that sun-over-the-sea-view. Trip on cocktails like Acid Eric or Amsterdam Dave and soak in the splendid beach view with every sip. Don’t miss their modern take on Missionary inspired cuisine. The food is delicious.

4. Bar 1240, Anjuna
A high-end sports bar hiding a nightclub at Rosetum Hotel. Welcome to Speakeasy. Catch a match on their wide-screen TV with drinks and cheers, during the day or dance the night away when the place transforms into a trendy pub. A friendly staff, plush interiors, a mean Espresso Martini and an exquisite Old Fashioned are what makes this comfy dim bar, worthy of your must-visit list. You can skip the crowded nightclubs in north goa and enjoy some music in a pub-style atmosphere here, any night of the week.

5. Half Pint, Vagator
This place is meant for chugging and beer-loving. Half Pint, is Goa’s first collaborative taproom. Founded by the founders of Great State Aleworks and Arbor Brewing Company, this 40-seated tavern-esque bar serves flavoursome craft brews in half-pint glasses. Go with your friends, try all 12 beers on tap and we promise you’ll be very happy you did! We recommend you try - Life of Poee, a refreshing amber ale; Sunny Afternoon, a New England IPA with melon, bright orange and tangerine flavour as well as Brightside, an easy-drinking Belgian Witbier. They’ve got small sharing plates of Portuguese-influenced Goan dishes to pair with the golden ales. Make a day of it, chill in their garden, drink some pints and enjoy bantering with your friends. Do visit, you’ll be un-beerably glad you did.
